Commitment to patient safety and value-based care: DSS showcases Oncology solutions at AVAHO 2022
Document Storage Systems, Inc. (DSS, Inc.) is once again participating in the annual Association of Veterans Affairs Hematology/Oncology (AVAHO) event. This year, DSS is presenting Therapy Manager (ITM) and Order Tracking Manager (OTM) - Oncology module as its Oncology solutions flagship.
Highlights:
DSS is committed to patient safety and value-based oncology care that can have transformational impact to overall Veteran health care delivery.
ITM is a web-based VistA-integrated clinical support tool for infusion therapy and evidence-based practice for treatment plans and has a more intuitive user experience for greater chemotherapy workflow. ITM is an expanded, enhanced, and web-based version of the legacy Vista Chemotherapy Manager (VCM) application. VCM, now ITM, has been a regular AVAHO sponsor and attendee over the years and has since then provided clinical teams and patients the benefits and care that they deserve.
ITM helps VA medical centers operate as a high reliability organization (HRO), focused on value-based care (VBC) principles by providing technology that empowers clinical teams to maximize patient safety, quality of care, and operational efficiency.
OTM is a web-based VistA-integrated solution that leverages real-time data to provide clear oversight and task management for staff and administrators. With one specific location for this data, OTM helps avoid delays in patient care and extra work for administrative and medical staffs.
The OTM-Oncology module features a dashboard that effectively showcases the Oncology Infusion Clinic Worklist, Patient Detail Screen, Nurse Patient 'Ready to Treat', 'Hold' & 'Rejected' Notifications, Metrics, and more helpful functionality that address the needs of medical staff and care teams in overall patient monitoring and oncology treatment.
OTM supports VA's HRO journey by providing multidisciplinary teams the opportunity to collaborate, placing patients at the center of care through operational efficiency and maximized care quality.
DSS is a bronze sponsor this year.
The AVAHO 2022 will be held on September 16-18 at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego.
AVAHO has a membership of nearly 800 professionals, comprised of medical oncologists and hematologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, physician assistants, social workers, cancer registrars, and other allied health professionals. AVAHO provides opportunities for networking, strengthen the educational activities, and improve the research capabilities among VA Hematology/Oncology professionals.
