DSS, Inc. Strategic Advisor Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen on key panel focused on Veterans in the Workplace
The annual Disney Institute’s Veterans Summit is coming up on August 19 to 20, 2022. The Veterans Summit focuses on the hiring, training and support of military veterans and spouses.
Hosted by the Disney Institute, the Veterans Summit is a complimentary event created to inspire business professionals and organizations utilizing actionable insights from The Walt Disney Company's Heroes Work Here initiative. Established to hire, train and support military Veterans and military spouses, Heroes Work Here has resulted in more than 10,000 Veterans joining The Walt Disney Company since its launch in 2012.
Named to TIME magazine's 2012 list of the 100 most influential people in the world, Dr. Van Dahlen, a strategic advisor to DSS, Inc., is a renowned clinical psychologist and mental health consultant who, as Executive Director of PREVENTS, built the first all-of-government and whole-of-nation effort focused on suicide prevention for Veterans. The topic of the panel discussion is The Inclusive Approach to Care.
Joining Dr. Van Dahlen on the panel will be General Mike Linnington Ret., CEO of the Wounded Warrior Project; and Mark Elliot, Managing Director & Global Head of Military and Veterans Affairs, JP Morgan Chase.
An understanding of the unique needs of Veterans is a critical element to ensure that Veterans thrive in the workforce. The panel will discuss how to create and facilitate programs and practices that ensure their well-being and success. The overall goal of the Summit is to help companies and organizations learn how to build and improve effective veteran-hiring initiatives of their own.
