HIMSS 2023: DSS Hosting Panel About Suicide Prevention in the Care Delivery Setting and Maximizing Reliability

In addition to showcasing its commercial and federal solutions at the conference, DSS is hosting a panel titled, “Suicide Prevention in the Care Delivery Setting: Maximizing Reliability,” which is taking place on Tuesday, April 18th from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. CT in room S503 in the South Building.
Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen, who is a DSS strategic advisor, CEO and Clinical Psychologist, WeBe Life Inc., and is the former executive director of the PREVENTS Presidential Executive Order Task Force is moderating the panel, which will focus on enhancing suicide prevention efforts in a care setting, as well as steps to becoming a high reliability organization (HRO).
The speakers are Dr. David LaBorde, M.B.A., President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Iconic Data, Inc., and David Whitmer, FACHE, Vice President, Product Operations (Federal) at DSS, Inc., and a former Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center director.
Panelists will discuss the process of developing a strategic plan, evaluating the need for workflow support technologies, navigating the technology procurement and implementation process in a large healthcare facility with numerous priorities, incorporating technology into clinical and administrative workflows, managing change during go-live and after, and assessing and monitoring impact after implementation.
