Mark Byers, President of DSS, Named 2021 FedHealthIT100 Winner
Byers Recognized for Third Straight Year for Commitment to Improving Healthcare
Document Storage Systems, Inc. (DSS), a leading provider of health information technology (HIT) solutions for federal, private and public healthcare organizations, today announced that Mark Byers, president of DSS, has been named a 2021 FedHealthIT100 awardee for a third straight year.
Nominated and chosen by his peers, Byers was again selected for his commitment to improve healthcare delivery. In 2020, DSS launched a number of innovative clinician decision support (CDS) solutions that harness the power of software and data visualization to empower caregivers and improve patient outcomes. The company also made key updates to many of its products to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
“It is a great honor to again be recognized by FedHealthIT,” said Byers. “It’s a privilege to work within the dedicated community of government and industry professionals who are transforming federal health innovation. Of course, the entire team at DSS deserve a great deal of credit, especially for when our tools helped the VA address the sudden COVID-19 pandemic. We’ll continue to support our customers on that front and with any other healthcare delivery challenges that emerge in 2021.”
The FedHealthIT100 honors those individuals recognized for driving change and advancement in the Federal Health IT and consulting marketplaces. The award spotlights those who challenge conventional wisdom and go above and beyond to drive health IT innovation.
Byers is a Service Disabled Veteran (United States Air Force), and co-founder of DSS. His professional software development experience spans almost 45 years in the data processing industry and development of electronic document management software.
During his illustrious career Mr. Byers has been dedicated to leveraging new technologies and finding ideal solutions that reduce care costs, streamline workflows, and provide higher quality of care for patients. Byers’ leadership has resulted in health IT solutions that have delivered billions of dollars in proven savings annually for medical centers across the country.
Byers and the other award recipients will be honored at the “7th Annual FedHealthIT100 Awards and A Peek at The Year Ahead Celebration,” a virtual event being held on November 17th.
